Looks like anger has gotten the best of former India cricket Gautam Gambhir as he was seen showing middle finger to fans chanting Virat Kohli's name during the India vs Nepal Asia Cup match.

Watch the video here:

The incident took place during the India vs Nepal Asia Cup 2023 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. The video appears to be shot during a rain interruption during the Asia Cup match when Gambhir was walking out of the stand. As the World Cup winner was walking, he could hear a lot of fans chanting Virat Kohli's name from the other stand. What appears to be an annoyed Gambhir, he brings his right hand out of his pocket and flips the crowd.

Towards the end of the video, Gambhir is seen continuing to walk with a person who is holding an umbrella for him under the rain.

After the video went viral, the former cricketer later came up with the reason behind his gesture. He said that Pakistan fans were chanting anti-India slogans which is what prompted Gambhir to show the middle finger.

Here's Gambhir explaining why he showed middle finger to fans:

Nepal exceed expectations in first inning

As for the match, Nepal managed to do exceedingly well against Team India in their first-ever encounter with the team. After selecting to bowl first, Rohit and Co. were made aware of Nepal's grit as two openers played brilliantly against India's pace attack early on.

Kushal Bhurtel (38) and Aasif Sheikh (58) defied expectations and brought Nepal to an honourable score of 65 in 9.4 before the first wicket fell. India's fielding mistakes should take a lot for Nepal's performance as the Men in Blue dropped a number of catches and misfielded in the Asia Cup match.

At the end of their inning, Nepal posted 230 in 48.2. Sheikh was the top scorer for the team from the Nepal side whereas Mohammed Siraj performed the best from the India side, taking 3 wickets in 9.2 overs.

Jasprit Bumrah who have travelled to India for the birth of his child, missed this match and Mohammed Shami was called in as his replacement.
