After being rested for the two games of the series against Australia, Kohli is back for the third game in Rajkot on September 27 alongside skipper Rohit Sharma. The No. 3 batter will carry a significant responsibility to score big runs and will look contribute to the Indian team's campaign in the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023.
India's journey in the World Cup is set to kick off on October 8 in Chennai against Australia. Meanwhile, the tournament opener, scheduled for October 5, will feature a match between the finalists of the previous edition, England and New Zealand, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Meanwhile, In a recent development, Pakistan and Afghanistan cricket teams have successfully obtained their visas for travel to India for the marquee event. The Pakistani players and support staff are set to receive their visas on Tuesday, facilitating their participation in the quadrennial tournament. The Pakistan cricket team are scheduled to arrive in Hyderabad via Dubai, on September 27, two days ahead of their first warm-up match against New Zealand on September 29.
