Emerging batter Ishan Kishan said that he is short of words to describe his match-winning knock of 210 from the third One Day International against Bangladesh which took place on Saturday, December 10. The youngster broke a plethora of records as he notched up his maiden ODI double century.

Ishan was regular skipper Rohit Sharma’s replacement in India’s playing XI for the final ODI of the series after the latter was forced to be ruled out due to a thumb injury. The southpaw stood up to everyone's expectations as his stupendous knock helped the Men in Blue eventually come out on top by a huge margin of 227 runs.

Thank you for everything: Ishan Kishan

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Ishan Kishan wrote, “I cannot put into words what I’m feeling right now but I’ll try. I’m overwhelmed by the love, the messages, the wishes. This is an innings that will stay in my heart forever, a day that I won’t forget, and these moments that I’ll always carry with me. Thank you for everything”.

After Shikhar Dhawan’s early dismissal, Ishan showed a fearless intent and counter-attacked the Bangladesh bowlers. He showcased an aggressive batting approach and succeeded in clearing boundaries at regular intervals, which helped him pile up runs quickly.

The 24-year-old reached his century in the blink of an eye and even after that he did not stop and kept batting in the same manner as Virat Kohli, the batter standing at the non-strikers’ end, had to play the role of a second fiddle.

He registered an outstanding double century and became just the fourth Indian player after Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, and Rohit Sharma to achieve this unique feat.

Notably, Kishan registered the fastest ODI double century of all time in just 126 deliveries. His promising knock came to an end at a 131-ball 210. The opener’s whirlwind knock included 24 fours and 10 sixes at an excellent strike rate of 160.3.

This blistering double century of Ishan Kishan combined with batting megastar Virat Kohli’s sensational 91-ball 113 powered India to a mammoth total of 409/8. The bowlers did their job brilliantly in the second innings as India claimed a massive win.
