Former Australia skipper Michael Clarke shared a heartbreaking post on social media following the death of his grandfather, Ray Fox. He captained Australia in Tests and One Day Internationals (ODI) between 2011 and 2015. He led the team to win the 2015 Cricket World Cup. The right-handed batter also led the Twenty20 (T20) side in 2010.

On Monday, the cricketer shared a picture of him standing beside his grandfather’s coffin on his official Instagram handle. He captioned the post, “Never gets any easier. In losing my Grandfather, I lost a best mate. I feel blessed to be surrounded by so much love on an extremely tough day. RIP Pop.”

Notably, Clarke was not much active on social media. It was his first post on social media since January.

As Clarke’s social media post surfaced on social media, many know faces poured condolences.

“Sorry to hear that news mate. Wishing you and the family all the best” wrote Channel 7’s Larry Emdur.

'Thinking of you,' wrote sports presenter Erin Holland.

'So sorry to hear M, sending love,' commented model Laura Csortan.

Olympian Grant Hackett added a red love heart and praying hands emoji in the comment section. Meanwhile, Australian footballer Vedran Janjetović and former cricketer Damien Martyn also wrote a heartwarming message.

Michael Clarke grabbed the spotlight after a public spat with his girlfriend

Michael Clarke grabbed the limelight for all the wrong reasons after his girlfriend accused the cricketer of cheating on her with his ex-girlfriend Pip Edwards. Following this, the 41-year-old also lost ambassadorial gigs from one of the clothing brands RM Williams.

Notably, the fight occurred during a dinner organized by her sister Jasmine and her husband Karl Stefanovic on January 10 in Noosa. In a clip that went viral on social media, Clarke was seen shirtless, and his girlfriend could be seen yelling at him and slapping him.
