Tickets for the upcoming ODI World Cup are selling like hotcakes. The India versus Pakistan clash is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It is the largest cricket stadium in the world and fans are waiting for October 14 to witness the two arch-rivals locking horns again in an ICC event.

Venkatesh Prasad has urged the Board of Control for Cricket in India to adopt a fan-first approach while selling tickets. He noted that it is important to sell at least 85,000 tickets for fans in a stadium that has a capacity of over one lakh. Reserving a substantial amount of tickets for corporates and members shouldn't be the approach.

I urge the @BCCI to have more transparency in the World Cup ticketing and not take fans for granted. Definitely in a stadium luke Ahmedabad, for an #IndvsPak clash more than 8500 tickets need to be available whrn the capacity is 1 lakh + .  It will be more fulfilling if the diehard fan is kept happy and not deprived of this opportunity instead of reserving a large chunk for corporates and members.

India and Pakistan World Cup match was rescheduled to October 14 from October 15

A few matches have already been rescheduled for the upcoming edition of the ODI World Cup. The high-voltage India versus Pakistan encounter was originally set to be played on October 15. However, this match was rescheduled to October 14, as the earlier date clashed with the Navratri festival and providing adequate security would have been quite difficult.

Pakistan's encounter against Sri Lanka in Hyderabad on October 12 was also pre-poned to October 10. The opening encounter of the impending 10-team event will take place on October 5, with defending champions England facing New Zealand in Ahmedabad. India's first match is scheduled to be held in Chennai against Australia on October 8.
