Team India are all set to continue their white-ball duties with a three-match T20I series against Ireland that is set to begin on Friday, August 18. In brilliant news for the visitors, it was announced that star pacer Jasprit Bumrah will be leading team India in a three-match series.

Bumrah’s return would serve as great news for India, as the star pacer has been out of contention for selection for more than a year now. Sustaining a stress fracture in his lower back, Bumrah missed many major tournaments due to his injury, including the Asia Cup 2022, the T20I World Cup, and the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

With his much-anticipated return finally happening, the ICC took to Twitter to share a brilliant graphic as the star pacer made his return. The ICC shared 'Lord of the Rings’ inspired art featuring Bumrah.

"Coming soon," ICC captioned the post.

Team India look to reciprocate from West Indies series loss

It is worth noting that Team India will be coming into the three-match series against Ireland after their recent loss in the five-match T20I series against the West Indies. India got off to a horrid start to the series as they lost the first two matches but quickly made a comeback.

After winning the third and fourth games, India once again succumbed to defeat in the fifth and final T20I. After losing the series 3-2, India will be keen on putting in an improved performance in the series against Ireland and will look to end the tour on a positive note after their recent loss.

Led by Jasprit Bumrah, all eyes will be on the star pacer, who is playing his first international game after a long hiatus. Speaking of the first T20I, the Indian team won the toss and opted to bowl first in Malahide.
