Imad Wasim announces retirement from International cricket

Pakistani star all-rounder, Imad Wasim has decided to bid adieu to international cricket.

Imad Wasim, a prominent all-rounder from Pakistan, has declared his retirement from international cricket. Through a heartfelt message on social media, he conveyed the news to his fans.

"In recent days I have been doing a lot of thinking about my international career and I have come to the conclusion that now is the right time for me to announce my retirement from international cricket."

"I would like to thank the PCB for all their support over the years - it has truly been an honour to represent Pakistan. Each of my 121 appearances across the ODI and T201 formats was a dream come true. It's an exciting time for Pakistan cricket going forward with new coaches and leadership incoming. I wish all involved every success and I look forward to watching the team excel," Imad Wasim said.

"Thank you to the Pakistan fans for always supporting me with such passion. A final thank you to my family and friends who have been so important in helping me achieve at the highest level. I now look forward to focussing on the next stage of my playing career away from the international stage," he added. 

Imad has showcased a versatile skill set in both batting and bowling across various formats. In ODIs, he's scored almost 1000 runs with a strong average of 42.86, while in T20Is, his strike rate of 131.70 stands out. 

His longer format performances in First-Class cricket display an impressive average of 40.68 across 77 matches. In List A cricket, he's contributed over 2600 runs with two centuries and 16 half-centuries.

As a bowler, Imad's effectiveness is evident. In ODIs, he's claimed 44 wickets with a best figure of 5/14, while in T20Is, he has taken 65 wickets at an average of 21.78. His First-Class and List A records also demonstrate his bowling prowess with 141 and 130 wickets respectively. In T20s, he's taken a remarkable 290 wickets.
