The third T20I match of the five-match series between Australia and India was held at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. Australian captain Matthew Wade won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Batting first, India started poorly, losing Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan early on with only 24 runs on the board in the third over. However, captain Suryakumar Yadav and Ruturaj Gaikwad then built a good partnership to stabilise the team.

Yadav was dismissed with the team's total at 81 in the 11th over, but Gaikwad continued to score steadily before shifting gears and smashing the Australian bowlers all around the park. He completed his century in just 52 balls and remained unbeaten on 123, helping India post a formidable total of 222 in 20 overs.

In response, Australian opener Travis Head started aggressively but the team struggled to maintain the required run rate and kept losing wickets at regular intervals, reaching 68 for three. However, Glen Maxwell then played a sensational innings, scoring a scintillating century off just 47 balls and stitching a brilliant 91-run partnership with captain Wade for the sixth wicket.

He remained unbeaten on 104 as Australia secured a victory and kept the series alive with a scoreline of 2-1 in India's favour. The fourth T20 of the series will be held at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur on December 01.
