During the second ODI match between India and Australia, an unfortunate incident occurred when teammates Sneh Rana and Pooja Vastrakar collided on the field at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The Women in Blue were trying to contain the Australians after initial fielding lapses.

Meanwhile, in the 25th over, a well-timed shot by Beth Mooney resulted in a collision between Rana at backward point and Vastrakar at point. Both all-rounders were shaken and required immediate medical attention. Although Vastrakar appeared unharmed, Rana was visibly distressed and had to leave the field after receiving treatment and applying an ice pack.

Unfortunately, the spin-bowling all-rounder, Rana, bore the brunt of the collision and required a stretcher as she lay on the ground for a moment. However, with the assistance of the physio, she managed to walk out. Harleen Deol was announced as the concussion replacement for Rana. However, just five overs later, the all-rounder returned to the field to be back in the action. In terms of Rana's performance in the game, she bowled out her complete quota of ten overs, while picking up a wicket and giving away 59 runs.

Moving on to the match, the Australian captain won the toss and elected to bat first. Phoebe Litchfield and Ellyse Perry continued their excellent form from the previous game, each scoring a half-century with 63 and 50 runs, respectively. Tahlia McGrath, Annabel Sutherland, and Alana King contributed usefully to take Australia to a decent total of 258/8 at the end of 50 overs. Deepti Sharma was India's standout performer with the ball, taking five wickets, including those of Perry, McGrath, and Sutherland.

During the chase, Richa Ghosh shone with the bat with a brilliant knock, unfortunately falling short by just four runs from a well-deserved hundred. Jemimah Rodrigues also made 47 runs, but no other batter could really stand out. Eventually, a middle-order collapse meant that Australia made a comeback into the game, as the last-over thriller went in the visitors' favour, winning the game by three runs.
