Gujarat Titans' summit clash against Chennai Super Kings witnessed a relentless downpour in Ahmedabad, resulting in the match being shifted to the reserve day, Monday, May 29. While Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to make it to the final this year, former RCB skipper Virat Kohli made an impact at the venue as fans took shelter under the Indian icon's cutout during the deluge. The video of the act is doing the rounds on social media with netizens lauding the quick thinking of the fans.

An expectant crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium had to return empty-handed after the rain gods spoiled the party at the venue. While the persistent rain pushed the IPL 2023 final to the reserve day, fans found it hard to make it out of the venue due to the small puddles and constant downpour.

However, spectators found an ingenious way to protect themselves from the rain as a group of fans got hold of Virat Kohli's giant-sized hoarding at the venue. A little crowd gathered under the cutout within no time, chanting the name of the Indian batting superstar.

Apparently, the organisers had put out giant posters at the venue to acknowledge the best moments from the 16th edition of the competition. Kohli's hoarding mentioned the former RCB batter being the leading run scorer in the tournament's history and the only batter to have breached the 7000-run mark in IPL history.

Coming to the final, defending champions Gujarat Titans will square off against Chennai Super Kings on Monday, May 29, following the washout on Sunday. While the forecast is bright for the summit clash, Hardik Pandya's side will be crowned champions for a second season running in case of another washout on the reserve day.
