The game between the hosts Delhi Capitals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi witnessed some ugly scenes when multiple fights broke out in the stands.
Things turned sour both on and off the field in Delhi as Sunrisers Hyderabad bagged two cruicial points over the hosts and a video that showed some fans clashing with each other. Multiple fans got into fights as another one from the stands tried to calm the situation by breaking in.
The stadium personnel tried to calm the commotion in the stadium riot, which included punching, hitting, and pushing over.
Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen help SRH clinch two crucial points
The visiting captain Aiden Markram called it right at the toss and elected to bat first on a good, friendly batting surface at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Abhishek Sharma was slotted in to open with Mayank Agarwal to set up a new opening combination for the Sunrisers.
Agarwal was sent for an early shower after being dismissed for just five, but Abhishek took control and put on a batting masterclass as he scored 67 from just 36 deliveries. SRH lost their way in the middle after three quick wickets, but Klaasen showed his batting tenacity and powered SRH to 197/6.
During the chase, Delhi were in the back seat right from the get-go as Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent David Warner back to the hut for a duck. Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt stitched a 112-run partnership to get the hosts back on track. Mayank Markhande spun a web around the DC batters as he picked up 2/20 in four overs to set up a thrilling finish.
Few strategic decisions and eventually running out of gas cost Delhi Capitals two points at home, and they now are tottering at the bottom of the IPL points table.
