Kolkata Knight Riders pulled out a rabbit from the hat when Rinku Singh dispatched Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes in the final over of the match to register a staggering victory against the defending champions. While KKR's stand-in skipper Nitish Rana ran out from the dugout to hug Rinku Singh, injured regular skipper Shreyas Iyer was also pumped after watching his side's thrilling victory on TV.

Gujarat Titans had the match firmly in their grasp after Rashid Khan's majestic hat-trick, with KKR needing 29 runs to win from the last over of the match. However, everyone at the Narendra Modi Stadium was left speechless after Rinku Singh smashed Yash Dayal for five consecutive sixes to seal a near-impossible chase for his side.

The KKR skipper, who was ruled out of the tournament due to a back injury, also put out a tweet after his teammate's jaw-dropping innings sealed his side's second successive victory. Rinku smashed 48 runs in just 21 deliveries as KKR successfully chased the most runs in the last over of an IPL encounter, thanks to his unbelievable knock.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer is set to undergo back surgery, not only ruling him out of the ongoing 16th edition of the IPL but also India's WTC final against Australia in June later this year. His back injury relapsed during India's Test series victory against Australia last month, ruling him out of the three-match ODI series that followed the red-ball assignment. He is a crucial part of the Indian white-ball setup, especially in the 50-over format and will be hoping to recover in time for the ODI World Cup later this year.
