Ahead of the high-profile clash between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Malinga was seen on the ground with the bowlers of MI, passing on some critical advice while making them work on their accuracy by conducting a target-hitting drill, which included Arjun Tendulkar too, among others.
In a video posted by Mumbai Indians on X (formerly Twitter), the 40-year-old is seen directing the bowlers to try the bowl out one-by-one. All the pacers in the MI squadron who try their aim at the stumps, miss by a narrow margin. However, Malinga, known for his slingy yorkers wasn't satisfied with the attempts made by the youngsters in the group.
That is when the Mumbai Indians' bowling coach decided to take the matters in his own hands. The former MI speedster nonchalantly took a few steps back. Running in and releasing the ball, Malinga's slingy action landed at the right spot, hitting the base of middle stump. The Lankan pacer's iconic celebrating, swaying his curly hairs with shades on, sent the internet into nostalgia, as netizens recalled his accuracy to aim the stumps from active days.
