IPL 2024: Top 10 Memes from PBKS vs SRH, Match 23

Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings clashed at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Chandigarh on Tuesday. PBKS won the toss and opted to bowl first. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma started cautiously and failed to capitalise. They both scored 21 and 16 respectively. Aiden Markram did not open his account and young batter Nitish Kumar Reddy entered the fray. He along with Rahul Tripathi started to navigate SRH through the tough phase.

While Tripathi departed after scoring 11, Heinrich Klaasen could not extend his stay over nine runs. Abdul Samad accompanied Reddy in the middle and the duo managed to steal some boundaries. Notably, Reddy smashed Harpreet Brar for a 22-run over. The Kashmir batter departed after a helpful cameo of 25 off 12. Thanks to Reddy’s 64 off 37 and Shahbaz Ahmed’s 14 off 7, SRH managed to post a defendable target of 183 losing nine wickets in the process.

PBKS went down the line of SRH when they started the chase. Jonny Bairstow was cleaned up by Pat Cummins on zero. Prabhsimran Singh scored just four runs and Shikhar Dhawan departed after a 14-run knock. In no time, Punjab’s scoreboard displayed 20 for the loss of three. Sam Curran and Sikandar Raza paired up for a 38-run stand before Curran got dismissed, scoring 29. Shashank Singh and Raza stitched another 33-run stand, but the latter got dismissed for 28.

Jitesh Sharma contributed 19 off 11 runs for his team's cause. Punjab’s last-game hero was joined by Ashutosh Sharma, and the duo raised the team's hopes. Their 66-run camaraderie not only brought the game closer, but they had almost nailed the win. They started dispatching boundaries and the last over required 29 runs with Jaydev Unadkat to bowl. Both smashed three sixes combined but fell short by two runs. While Shashank was unbeaten on 46, Ashutosh accompanied him with 33*. SRH clinched the last ball thriller by two runs.
