Travis Head landed in Hyderabad on Saturday, March 16, to join his teammates at Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024). Upon his arrival, Head made it clear that he wanted to contribute to the success of the former champions.

Head will be returning to the cash-rich league after a six-year hiatus. He was a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2016 and 2017 editions of the tournament and scored 205 runs in 10 matches at an average of 29.29 and a strike rate of 138.51. The southpaw expressed his excitement after arriving in Hyderabad and couldn't wait for his opportunity to play in front of the passionate Orange Army supporters.

"Feeling good. Good to be back. Looking forward to a good season. The team looks good. Looking forward to meeting everyone. And hopefully, I can contribute with some runs. Yeah, I've heard amazing things about the Orange Army. I'm looking forward to play in front of everyone," Head said in a video shared by Sunrisers Hyderabad on their 'X' handle.

The 30-year-old said that he will strive to help the Sunrisers win as many games as possible as the Pat Cummins-led side hopes to reclaim the title which they won back in 2016.

"I guess win as many games as we possibly can and try and contribute somewhat to that cause. And, yeah, hopefully, we will have a really successful season and a lot of good times and yeah, can't wait to play in front of the crowd. Hopefully, in the IPL final and hopefully, we will see the sunrise. So, that'd be a nice touch," Head added.

Head proved hero for Australia in ODI World Cup 2023 Final

Travis Head will have fond memories of playing in India. He smashed a belligerent century in the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup against India last year in November to help Australia win a record-extending sixth title. If he can play some knocks similar to the one that he played at the colossal Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, it will stand Sunrisers Hyderabad in good stead during the 10-team tournament.

Sunrisers begin their IPL 2024 campaign with a clash against Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens, in Kolkata, on Saturday, March 23.
