Royal Challengers Bengaluru's (RCB) campaign in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 went from bad to worse as they suffered their fifth loss in six games. Faf du Plessis and Co. were outplayed by Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday, April 11.
The former five-time champions made light work of a 197-run target as they romped home with seven wickets and 27 balls to spare. Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma stitched a 101-run partnership inside the first nine overs to set things up for a vintage Suryakumar Yadav knock in front of a vociferous Wankhede crowd. Kishan scored 69 off 34 balls, while Suryakumar smashed 51 off just 19 as all the RCB bowlers were put to the sword.

After Mumbai registered their second win in the tournament, Jamaican sprinter Yohan Blake lauded Suryakumar's sizzling knock but also called out the dismal performance of the RCB bowlers.
“I know Suryakumar Yadav can really bat. But come on RCB, that’s bad bowling”, Blake posted on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) handle.

This isn't the first time Blake has posted something about the IPL. The avid follower of the league has given time-to-time reactions to some exhilarating matches over the years.
“Wow this game of cricket is crazy. Love it so much what about last night but a super over in this wonderful game today," he posted back in 2020 after watching a contest that was decided in the Super Over between RCB and MI.

Jasprit Bumrah breathes fire, bags second IPL five-for
Earlier in the day, Jasprit Bumrah showed his class as he dismissed five RCB batters, including Orange Cap-holder Virat Kohli and RCB captain du Plessis. Dinesh Karthik's scintillating 53 not out off 23 balls helped Bengaluru get to a fighting total of 196/8 in their 20 overs. However, it proved to be way short of a winning score.
