England have received a massive boost ahead of a hectic cricketing schedule next summer as star pacer Jofra Archer is nearing his comeback to cricket. The speedster was seen sweating it out into the nets in his latest Instagram story. He has been out of action since March 2021 and was ruled out for the entirety of the English summer after suffering a stress fracture earlier this year.

Jofra Archer was seen bowling in the nets as England prepares for the Test series against Pakistan. Archer was seen steaming in and dishing out an effortless delivery. He is continuing his rehabilitation in the UAE with the England Lions squad.

"He is currently in the UAE with the England Lions team and is continuing his rehab. He is making excellent progress and the view is that he will be looking to play competitively again during the early part of 2023,” an ECB spokesperson was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz a few days ago.

Jofra Archer has become an indispensable asset for England since his debut

Archer is currently being supervised by former English cricketer and coach Jon Lewis and is also working closely with legendary English pacer James Anderson in hopes of improving his performance in red-ball cricket. Although there has been no official announcement regarding his return, the star cricketer is likely to take part in the next edition of the IPL with the Mumbai Indians.

The 27-year-old made his debut for the Three Lions in 2019 and instantly became the focal point of the English bowling attack due to his sheer pace and hostility. He has scalped 42 wickets in just 13 Tests after making his debut in the memorable 2019 Ashes, taking 22 wickets in his debut series. His last outing for the English side came in 2021 as he has remained on the sidelines after a string of unfortunate injuries.
