David Warner recently announced that the ongoing Test series against Pakistan would be his last representing Australia in whites.

Following the second Test match, where Australia secured a 79-run victory over Pakistan, Warner's wife took to social media and shared a picture with Warner and their kids, accompanied by an emotional caption.

"Last photo on the MCG with the family. @davidwarner31, we are proud to have been on this journey with you. @thewarner.sisters," she wrote in her Instagram post.

In his final Test at the iconic venue, Warner scored 38 and 5 in the first and second innings, respectively. The 37-year-old will retire from Test cricket after the third Test at his home ground, the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).

Coming to the match, Australia clinched victory by 79 runs. On Day 3, Pakistan had Australia at 16/4 in the second innings, with two left-arm speedsters each claiming two wickets. Despite a dropped catch at 20, Mitchell Marsh's 96, supported by a match-winning partnership with Smith, boosted Australia's lead. Carey's fifty extended the lead to over 300, setting a challenging target.

In reply, Pakistan, led by Masood and Babar, displayed bravery, bringing the target below 100 with Rizwan and Salman's partnership. However, Rizwan's dismissal triggered a collapse, and Australia secured the win with captain Cummins taking a five-wicket haul, while Mitchell Starc claimed four.

We have to look at the bigger picture: Shan Masood

After the match, Losing skipper, Shan Masood emphasised the need to focus on the bigger picture despite the defeat. He acknowledged the positives in their performance but highlighted the importance of avoiding mistakes against a quality side like Australia.

“We have to look at the bigger picture. There were a lot of positives. We can easily be like, 'what if we did this, what if we did that?' That's all and part and process of the game. There were a lot of positives but if you give a quality side like Australia a sniff, which we did, maybe sometimes with the bowl, maybe sometimes with the bat, yesterday maybe in the field we dropped someone in form like Marsh, we might not have been chasing so many today. Mistakes happen. In terms of the bigger picture, this is the way we want to play Test cricket,” Masood was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.
