The 2024 edition of the Legends League Cricket (LLC 2024) got off to a phenomenal start as Konark Suryas Odisha got the better of Manipal Tigers in a low-scoring thriller at the Barkatullah Khan Stadium, in Jodhpur, on Friday, September 20.
However, during the intense clash, Odisha captain Irfan Pathan showed his lighter side as he imitated legendary umpire Billy Bowden's famous "crooked finger of doom" out signal. This incident occurred in the third over of the second innings as defending champions Manipal Tigers were chasing a 105-run target. After bowling four consecutive dot balls to Manoj Tiwary, Ben Laughlin got the fifth ball to jag back in slightly to hit the former India cricketer on his front pad.
Consequently, a hilarious moment transpired as Bowden raised his finger while watching Irfan standing beside him, imitating his gesture. The New Zealander burst into laughter upon seeing the former India all-rounder's antics.

Konark Suryas Odisha start with thrilling two-run win over Manipal Tigers
Harbhajan Singh won the toss for Manipal Tigers and opted to bowl first. The top three batters for Odisha were dismissed for single-digit scores before Dilshan Munaweera, Ross Taylor, and Irfan Pathan tried to battle it out on a sluggish track. They accumulated a combined 43 runs off 67 balls as batting was quite difficult on the surface. Navin Stewart and Vinay Kumar hit two boundaries each at the backend of the Odisha innings to take their team's total beyond the 100-run mark. They eventually finished on 104/9 in their 20 overs.
