Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir got involved in a verbal fight after Royal Challengers Bangalore's (RCB) win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). As the two franchises shook hands after the conclusion of the match, it was Kohli and Gambhir, who grabbed eyeballs as they were seen engaging in an argument.

Notably, Gambhir was seen pointing fingers at Kohli upon which the latter did not hold back and charged towards him. Several players from both ends tried to hold back the players before it turned ugly on the field.

The incident sparked off when Kohli was seen fired up and celebrated as he silenced the crowd in Lucknow following the regular dismissals which did not end well with some of the home team players. However, after the conclusion of the match, pacer Naveen-ul-Haq was seen having a word with Kohli as did Kyle Mayers and got engaged in an intense conversation with the flamboyant batter.

Gambhir, who noticed the intense discussion, took Mayers away from Kohli which did not go down well with the latter. Just moments later, Gambhir, who seemed to be irked with the RCB batter, wanted to have a one-on-one word with Kohli. However, Gambhir was stopped by the management and players but the former went up to Kohli as the duo further got involved in a heated argument.

Speaking about the match, RCB edged past LSG in a low-scoring affair as they won the contest by 18 runs at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 1. Courtesy of Faf du Plessis’ 44 off 40 balls, RCB managed to post a meager 126 runs for the first innings.

In response, LSG tumbled as a disciplined bowling performance by the RCB unit paid dividends. The fall of wickets at regular intervals helped RCB as LSG were reeling throughout the chase. In doing so, RCB won their fifth match of the season and have 10 points in the IPL Points Table. With the win, they have now climbed up to fifth place with a negative Net Run Rate (NRR) of 0.030.
