The Asia Cup 2023 is set to unfold uniquely this time around. Due to political circumstances, India's decision to not travel to Pakistan led to the implementation of the hybrid model. The tournament will kick off with a clash between Pakistan and Nepal in Multan, Pakistan, on August 30.
A date eagerly marked on the cricket calendar is September 2, when India and Pakistan lock horns in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Another good fixture for India will be against Nepal on September 4 at the same venue.
This edition of the Asia Cup will feature two groups. The top two teams from each group will progress to the Super Four stage, where every team will play each other again. From this stage, the two leading sides will book their spots in the final scheduled for September 17 in Colombo.
Pakistan will host several group stage matches as well as one Super Four stage match. The remaining games will be played in Sri Lanka.
As the tournament draws near, the cricketing world is not just intrigued by the prospect of enthralling matches, but also by the unconventional yet captivating preparation methods adopted by players like Mohammad Naim Sheikh. Fans will be eager to watch the Asian stars performing for their countries with some brilliant cricketing displays on the field.
