MS Dhoni reveals 'new role', features in latest ad for IPL 2024

MS Dhoni ended the suspense regarding a 'new role' he had mentioned recently via a Facebook post. The legendary cricketer featured in a new ad for the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

On Monday, March 4, Dhoni made a very rare appearance on social media as he spoke about embarking on a new role for the impending IPL season. The cricket fraternity started reading between the lines of the post and dwelling on the possibilities.

"Can't wait for the new season and the new 'role'. Stay tuned!" Dhoni had written on his official Facebook page.

On Wednesday, March 7, the mystery was finally solved when the wicketkeeper-batter uploaded a new ad on Facebook for IPL 2024 featuring himself. Dhoni had a double role in the ad that aims to enhance the excitement around the 17th edition of the cash-rich league and give a preview of how fans are going to be glued to their mobile phones over the next few months to watch their favourite stars in action.

Tagging Jio Cinema, he wrote, “New season, double role! All the action brought to you absolutely free with #IPLonJioCinema, starting 22nd March. Kyunki sab yahaan, aur kahaan!”

MS Dhoni joins CSK setup

The inspirational leader of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) arrived in Chennai on Tuesday, March 5, to join his teammates ahead of IPL 2024. Last year, he led a relatively inexperienced side to the title. It was a record-equalling fifth IPL triumph for the Men in Yellow as they drew level with Mumbai Indians.

Dhoni and Co. are going to get their campaign underway on Friday, March 22 as they take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chepauk.
