MS Dhoni sports new hairdo inspired by fan's art, turns back clock to remind vintage days

Legendary India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni once again came into the limelight as he was spotted in a new hairstyle. Despite, the 42-year-old has not been very active on social media, his new hairstyle has gained widespread attention. The photos of Dhoni’s hairstyle have been shared by a celebrity hairstylist, Aalim Hakim.

The ace wicketkeeper-batter made this new hairstyle for an ad photo shoot, according to the hairdresser. Hakim posted the images along with a fascinating story behind the cricketer's new hairdo. He claimed that Dhoni had shown him a picture of himself that was a fan-made image of him with long hair. He claimed that they promised each other to cut and style it when Dhoni grows back his hair long.

Furthermore, Aalim Hakim stated that he was grateful for the opportunity to work with Dhoni and lauded the cricketer for being open to trying new hairstyles. 

"It’s an amazing opportunity for any creative person to get associated with Mahendra Singh Dhoni and I’m always grateful that I get this honour to show my craft by styling his hair," Hakim mentioned in his Instagram post.

The 42-year-old was seen sporting a ponytail a few days ago in a video that circulated widely on social media. Fans had speculated as to whether the ace cricketer will attend the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season sporting the hairdo which first made him so well-known. Notably, he has made significant strides throughout the years not only with his explosive batting or his agility behind the stumps, but also by occasionally donning new hairstyles.  

Known as "Captain Cool," MS Dhoni had long hair when he first represented Team India in international cricket. After winning the first ICC T20 World Cup in 2007 and clinching the ICC Cricket World Cup title for the second time in 2011, he changed his hairstyle.
