The stage is set for Pakistan and England to collide once again but this time in the longest format of the sport, in a three-match series. Pakistan captain Babar Azam expressed that the side is gearing up for the clash and is looking forward to playing 'good cricket' in the series.

The Men in Green last locked horns with the Three Lions in the T20 World Cup 2022 summit clash where in the latter emerged victorious on the grandest stage. Even prior to the marquee event, the two heavyweights crossed swords in a seven-match T20I series where England clinched the series 4-3. Former England international Nasser Hussain sat down with the Pakistan skipper and questioned him on the preparations ahead of the match.

“Yes, we are looking forward to the series. First of all, I welcome the England team here (in Pakistan). I think a few boys have already represented the side in the T20 squad and there are a few new faces, so I think they should enjoy a lot. Enjoy the conditions, and enjoy the hospitality in Pakistan. We are certainly looking forward to the series and everyone wants to play good cricket!” said Babar in an interview with Nasser for SkySports.

The swashbuckling right-hander was also asked who were the cricketers he admired watching in his formative years upon which Babar uttered the name of South Africa great, AB de Villiers.

“To be honest, my role model is AB de Villiers. I love him, especially with the way he plays his shots. So, when I see him batting on Television, the very next day I try to play similar shots in the nets and on the ground. I try my best to copy and play like AB de Villiers because he is my idol,” added Babar.

Pakistan play the Three Lions in the first test match on December 1 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi. The Men in Green will look to overcome their recent failures against the same side and clinch the series at home.
