The highly anticipated final match of the ODI World Cup took place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, with Australia and India going head to head. After winning the toss, Australia elected to field first.

Pat Cummins' decision to bowl first on a dry pitch initially seemed risky, as Indian captain Rohit Sharma aggressively led the charge with an impressive display of shots during the first ten overs. Sharma smashed four fours and three sixes and looked all set for a big score.

However, the introduction of off-spinner Glenn Maxwell by the Australian captain in the final over of the powerplay proved pivotal. Rohit tried to hit a six but the ball went up in the air and Travis Head took a brilliant catch. Shreyas Iyer also fell victim to Cummins' skilful bowling, leaving India in a challenging position.

Kohli scored another half-century but was dismissed by Cummins after scoring 54. The Australian team bowled with great control and didn't allow the Indian batters to score freely towards the death overs. The Indian team could score just 240 in the end which always looked like a below-par score.

In pursuit of the target, the Australian team lost early wickets as David Warner, Steven Smith, and Mitchell Marsh were dismissed cheaply. Then Marnus Labuschagne and Head came in together and showcased great resilience, steering the innings comfortably. Head smashed a brilliant century and stitched a brilliant 192 runs partnership with Labuschagne for the fourth wicket, securing victory for Australia. Head scored 137 off 120 balls with 15 fours and four sixes, while Labuschagne contributed 58 off 110 balls.
