The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) responded to the scathing statements made by outgoing chairman Ramiz Raja, who alleged that he was ill-treated by the national board. Ramiz addressed his viewers in an hour-long session on his YouTube channel, where he stated that the board did not even give him time to pack his stuff the next morning after being sacked.

“The way they attacked the cricket board. They didn't even let me take my stuff. Early morning at 9, around 17 guys stormed at the office, which felt as if the Federal Investigation Agency of Pakistan had raided the office,” he said.

The apex cricket board took heed and issued a clarification on the matter. Salman Naseer, the PCB Chief Operating Officer (COO), took to Twitter and confirmed that all of Raja's belongings have been kept safely and would be returned as part of the usual handing over process.

“All belongings of Ramiz Raja were collected by me as COO of the PCB prior to arrival of Najam Sethi on the morning of being notified and have been safely kept in PCB custody and will of course be returned as a part of usual handing over/taking over process,” his tweet read.

Najam Sethi takes charge

The decision to sack Raja came after Pakistan endured a humiliating 3-0 series sweep at home to England in the recent Test series. Adding to this, Pakistan were unable to leave a mark in any major ICC event, as they are knocked out of WTC final race while they lost the finals of both Asia Cup 2022 and T20 World Cup 2022.

PCB decided to sack Raja with immediate effect and reinstate Sethi as the chairman of the board. Sethi has prior experience and has already confirmed that were would be changes in the management in short time.
