RCB vs PBKS: Fan sneaks past security to touch Virat Kohli's feet, video divides the internet

In a startling incident at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the IPL 2024 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), a passionate fan breached security to meet cricketing icon, Virat Kohli. Amidst the buzz of anticipation, the fan managed to approach Kohli and even touched his feet before security intervened swiftly, removing the intruder from the scene.

The incident, though brief, left spectators stunned and highlighted the intense devotion fans hold for their cricketing idols. Such instances also raise alarms about the security of the players. Fans inside the stadium cheered on the fearless Kohli fan for jumping security protocols. Social media fans however seemed to be more level-headed and called for stringent actions when it came to cases like these.

This is not the first instance of something like this happening with the India player. Kohli has been at the receiving end of multiple such instances when fans go to great lengths, even illegal, to get near the former India captain. 

Kohli is back with a bang

Having stayed away from professional cricket for months due to the birth of his second child, Kohli took to the IPL 2024 with a huge question mark on his head. There was talk of his exclusion from India's squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup in June and hence he needed to put an end to the murmour. 

That is what Kohli did when he came onto bat against PBKS at the M Chinnaswamy on Monday. The 35-year-old wasted no time to get going as he bulldozed his way to his 100th half-century. As the IPL 2024 gets going it would be interesting to see if Kohli makes a case for his inclusion through his performance for RCB.
