One of team India’s star players, Rishabh Pant, has been sidelined for a long time due to a recent car accident that the 25-year-old was involved in. Pant even shared pictures of him walking with the crutches, which was a sore sight for the wicketkeeper’s fans.

He captioned the picture, "One step forward, one step stronger, one step better." Pant's return is eagerly anticipated by the fans, as the 25-year-old has been a consistent match-winner for Team India in the past few years.

Recently, Pant took to Instagram once again, as he shared glimpses of the "love" that he received from his young fans on Valentine’s Day. Sharing the picture on his Instagram story, the flamboyant batter showed a poster made by some children that featured a drawing of his Delhi Capitals jersey, a water bottle featuring his initials, RP 17, and a spiderman along with a cute message. The note read, "Dear Rishabh, hope you are feeling better. Sharing my favourite things, love."

Notably, Pant is also famous among his fans for his pseudo name spidey aka Spiderman. Interestingly enough, during the iconic 'Gabba Test', when off-spinner Washington Sundar was bowling Rishabh Pant started humming the famous Indian Spiderman song, “Spiderman Spiderman”.

The stump mic could clearly record it. In that match, Pant and Paine were having a banter. Consequently, to annoy the latter, the former started singing that song. Since then, Rishabh Pant got nicknamed as 'Spiderman'.

Rishabh Pant likely to miss the upcoming IPL and the ODI World Cup

In what seems to be a huge blow to team India ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup, Rishabh Pant is likely to be absent from the marquee tournament as well, due to his injuries. According to several reports, he could be out of action until the end of 2023.

If that is true, then there will be a huge gap to fill in the Indian squad, as their star wicketkeeper will be absent. It will take at least 8-9 months for the 25-year-old to recover properly and resume training with the team. As skipper of the Delhi Capitals, Pant’s absence will be evident at this year’s IPL as well.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not willing to take any chances with Pant's return, and with the ODI World Cup rapidly approaching, Team India will be hoping that Pant can recover and return to the squad in time.
