The fever of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 is reaching every corner of the world. With the world’s best teams coming to India to compete in the tournament, the various stars, both former and current, have been enjoying their stay in the country.
Legendary former South Africa pacer Dale Steyn is one of them. The 40-year-old is currently in Kerala to do his job as a commentator for the upcoming World Cup. Steyn is a part of Star Sports’ commentary panel for the World Cup, and by taking to social media, Steyn documented his stay in Kerala.
Posting the clip on Instagram, Steyn captioned the post, “Rain. India. People. Kindness. Salute.#OhCoconut #missyou.” In the clip, Steyn could be seen walking alongside the beach and talking about the weather and how the people have been very kind to him by letting him stay in a hotel room until the rain stops and much more.
South Africa kick-off World Cup campaign against Sri Lanka
Talking of South Africa’s upcoming assignments, the side participated in two World Cup warm-up games after their arrival in India for the tournament. Their first warm-up game was scheduled against Afghanistan, but it was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain.
For their second game, they took on New Zealand, where they conceded a seven-run defeat. With the warm-up games done, South Africa will now be gearing up to begin the ODI World Cup. They begin their campaign by taking on Sri Lanka in the fourth game of the tournament on Saturday, October 7.
It is worth noting that both sides will face each other at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, and coming off a loss against New Zealand, South Africa will be motivated to do better, and it could be interesting to see whether the side will be able to kick off their campaign in a positive way with a win.
