Lucknow Super Gnats faced off against Chennai Super Kings at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. After being asked to bat first, CSK capitalised on favourable batting conditions, posting a formidable total of 210 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs, propelled by a stellar century from captain Ruturaj Gaikwad.

However, the highlight of the match unfolded during the second innings when Marcus Stoinis, batting at number three for LSG, played a spectacular shot in the ninth over of the chase. Moeen Ali floated up a full delivery just outside off stump, tempting Stoinis, who seized the opportunity and dispatched the ball cleanly over long-on for a massive six. The ball sailed a whopping 96 meters, leaving the crowd in awe of Stoinis's power-hitting prowess.

Here's the video of Stoinis' magnificent shot:

Coming to the CSK's innings, it was a remarkable effort to post a total of 210 runs from their batters. Rahane's early dismissal, caught by Rahul off Matt Henry's bowling for just one run from three balls, and Mitchell's inability to make an impact at number three with 11 runs from ten balls, were setbacks for CSK.

However, it was the Ruturaj Gaikwad show tonight. From the first ball, he was in fine form, showcasing impeccable timing, placement, and class throughout his innings. Gaikwad's century, his second in the IPL, was a testament to his exceptional batting prowess, remaining unbeaten on 108 runs from 60 balls, including 12 boundaries and three sixes.

Jadeja's promotion to number four didn't yield many runs, caught by Rahul off Mohsin Khan's bowling for 16 runs from 19 balls, including two boundaries. But it was the partnership between Dube and Gaikwad that stole the spotlight. Dube's aggressive left-handed strokes dominated the LSG attack, particularly against slower off-cutters, which he dispatched effortlessly over deep mid-wicket boundaries multiple times. Dube's innings proved to be pivotal as he scored a blistering 66 runs from just 27 balls, smashing three fours and an impressive seven sixes.

The crowd was treated to a special moment when MS Dhoni walked out and promptly struck his only ball to the boundary, much to their delight, contributing four runs from one ball at a strike rate of 400.00. The collective effort from CSK's batters, led by Gaikwad's exceptional century and Dube's power-hitting, propelled them to a formidable total, setting the stage for an exciting chase by LSG.
