Dharamsala's Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium will witness an exciting clash between England and Bangladesh on Tuesday, October 9, in match No. 7 of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2023. Meanwhile, ahead of the important clash, there have been major security threats surrounding the fixture. As a result, sniffer dogs were spotted 'investigating' the pitch and inner field area at the venue.

There are speculations that threats of terror attacks have been surrounding the mega event even before it raised curtains. Thus, security officials are leaving no stone unturned to make sure that the teams can play 'risk-free'.

A couple of weeks ago, Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu gave threats of terror attacks for the high-voltage clash between India and Pakistan at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The clash between the arch-rivals is set to take place on Saturday, October 14, and will be the third game for both teams in the one-day extravaganza. These terrorist threats came amid the questionable political tensions rising between India and Canada, especially after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's visit to India for the G20 Summit.

Security issues occurred first when the Pakistan Cricket Board requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to host their matches at 'safer' venues during the mega event. Following this decision, many matches were rescheduled with respect to their dates and times. In fact, the warm-up fixture between New Zealand and Pakistan at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad, was played behind closed doors following a shortfall in providing security due to Ganapati Visarjan occurring on the same day as the fixture.
