RCB players’ aggressive celebration after they beat CSK in a virtual eliminator on May 18 did not sit well with the Chennai fans and their former players. The Men in Red-Blue-and-Gold were outclassed by RR in the Eliminator at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 22. Social media was abuzz with fan pages trolling the Faf du Plessis-led side and Rayudu joined the bandwagon. You can’t achieve success by beating Chennai Super Kings: Rayudu
The former India player was dejected as RCB thwarted CSK in Bengaluru. His emotions were palpable as he was on busy with commentary gig on air. Rayudu did not mince any words after RR won the Eliminator on Wednesday, and he cheekily remarked that winning against CSK does not mean conquering the IPL. The former cricketer also highlighted the glaring aspect of RCB’s love for foreign coaches.
“RCB will have to understand that you can’t win the IPL trophy by aggressive celebrations. You can’t achieve success by beating Chennai Super Kings. You need a proper team and good performance in the playoffs to clinch the trophy. Bengaluru will have to trust the Indian players and local coaches. You can’t ignore the Indian talent in the Indian Premier League. CSK, MI, and KKR have understood the importance of Indian players and that’s why they are among the top performing units,” said Rayudu on air after the game.
