Star India batter Suryakumar Yadav was recently seen leading India in the T20I series against South Africa as the Men in Blue managed to draw the series 1-1. However, there was a cause of worry for his fans as the swashbuckling batter had twisted his ankle while fielding during the third T20I in Johannesburg.
After the game, the 33-year-old gave an update on his injury and revealed that he was fine. However, according to reports, the India cricketer had some scans after returning from South Africa and found out that he had a Grade-II tear in his ankle. Following his injury, Suryakumar has been ruled out of action for seven weeks.

The Mumbai-born cricketer is enjoying his time off the field as he’s on vacation with his wife Devisha. The Indian batter shared some moments from his vacation with his fans on social media where he can be seen enjoying chilly weather in a foreign land wearing a pneumatic walker boot.

Notably, before injuring himself in the third game, Suryakumar Yadav scored a sensational hundred to help India cross the 200-run mark. He played a scintillating innings of 100 off 56 balls clobbering 7 fours and eight sixes registering his fourth T20I century. Courtesy of his innings, he became just the third player in T20Is to score four centuries along with Indian captain Rohit Sharma and Glenn Maxwell.

Suryakumar Yadav has been the no 1 T20I batter for over a year
Suryakumar is the number one ranked T20I batter with 887 ratings to his name, a position which he has held for over a year. In 60 T20I games, he has scored 2141 runs at an average of 45.55 and a strike rate of 171.55 with four hundreds and 17 fifties.
The Indian fans will hope that he returns to the field as soon as possible as Suryakumar will be expected to play a major role during T20 World Cup 2024 scheduled to be held in West Indies and USA in June.
