Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently shared heartfelt sentiments regarding cricketer Rishabh Pant's triumphant return to the field after a harrowing car accident that sidelined him for over a year.
Pant, the star India wicketkeeper-batter, faced a life-threatening accident in December 2022, sending shockwaves across the nation. Khan expressed his distress upon witnessing the aftermath of the accident, emphasizing his deep concern for Pant's well-being.

"That was horrifying. I saw that video (of his car). It was horrifying! Because we didn't know then, what was the result of that accident. So, you get the worst feelings. To me, these boys are like my own sons," Khan conveyed in an interview with Star Sports. His words resonated with the empathetic concern of a mentor witnessing a protege's ordeal.

Reflecting on the ordeal, Khan articulated the dual jeopardy faced by athletes in such situations, highlighting the profound impact of injuries on their careers and personal lives.
"I have youngsters in my team as well. I hoped he wasn't injured badly. And a sportsman getting injured, it's a double jeopardy. Worse than that, us getting injured. I wish him all the best. I hope his knee gets fully recovered soon. In the last game, when I met him, I was telling him don't get up, it must be hurting," Khan remarked, echoing the shared sentiment of vulnerability in the realm of sports.
Despite the adversity, Pant's remarkable resilience shone through as he made a remarkable comeback, showcasing exceptional form in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Khan's admiration for Pant's determination was palpable as he recounted their recent encounter, expressing joy at witnessing Pant's return to form.

"I was hugging him and asking are you well? I had not seen him before that, post the accident. I am really happy that he's back, playing well and I hope he keeps on playing well," he added.
Pant's stellar performances in the IPL have not gone unnoticed, with Delhi's coaching stalwarts Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting tipping him for a spot in the national team for the upcoming T20 World Cup. Pant's stellar record, amassing 385 runs in ten matches, coupled with his exemplary skills behind the stumps, has solidified his position as a force to be reckoned with in the cricketing arena.
