Ace Indian batter Virat Kohli has been quite active on social media in recent months. Ever since his infamous spat with Naveen-ul-Haq and Gautam Gambhir in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Kohli has been regularly seen posting quotes on his Instagram stories.

Kohli last featured for team India in the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023 where the side faced a heartbreaking loss to Pat Cummins-led Australia. After being away from playing for more than a week, Kohli once again took to Instagram to post a cryptic story that left the fans perplexed.

This time, the fans were left searching for answers as Kohli posted a cryptic quote once again. The quote referred to how trust is the bridge to freedom from the ego of man. "The mind lives in doubt. The heart lives in trust. Trust is the bridge to freedom from the ego-mind," Kohli posted on his Instagram story.

Virat Kohli could be key for India in upcoming games

After a month long-hiatus from the sport, the Indian team will return to action next when they take on the West Indies for a multi-format series from July 12. It is worth noting that India will face the West Indies in two Tests, three ODIs, and finish the tour with five T20Is.

However, since the squad for the tour is yet to be announced, it could be interesting to see what team composition the side could go for. Furthermore, the series will also help them better prepare for the upcoming 50-over Asia Cup that is scheduled to be held in August-September 2023. The tournament will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

After the Asia Cup, India will face off against the world’s best teams in the upcoming ODI World Cup in October-November at home. Not having won an ICC trophy for over 10 years now, a lot would depend on the performances of Kohli and Co. if the side is aiming to bring the World Cup home.
