Former Pakistan skipper Imran Khan is currently in jail after the Supreme Court handed him a three-year prison sentence in a corruption case. The 70-year-old also has his differences with the ruling party of Pakistan at the moment, as they have passed a no-confidence motion against Imran.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently shared a short clip of the country’s rich history in cricket but didn’t include Imran Khan in the video. Notably, the legendary cricketer represented the national team in 263 international matches, picking up 544 wickets and scoring 7515 runs in the process and hence, his former teammate Wasim Akram is stunned to see him not being a part of the video.

The former cricketer stated that politics should not be mixed with cricket and that PCB should delete the video. He added saying that Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and hence, PCB should apologise for their behaviour.

“After long flights and hours of transit before reaching Sri Lanka, I got the shock of my life when I watched PCB’s short clip on the history of Pakistan cricket minus the great Imran Khan… political differences apart but Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and developed Pakistan into a strong unit in his time and gave us a pathway… PCB should delete the video and apologise,” Wasim Akram tweeted on Wednesday.

Notably, the duo played a lot of cricket together including the 1992 World Cup, where they managed to beat England by 22 runs in the finals to win the coveted prize. With the bat, Imran was sensational as he scored 72 runs while Javed Miandad hit 58 runs as Pakistan posted 249 runs in the first innings. Wasim, in the second innings, picked up three wickets and was also adjudged Player of the Match on the night of the finals. Notably, that was Imran’s last appearance in international cricket.
