All the Indian cricket fans are eagerly waiting for the much anticipated upcoming India vs West Indies series. BCCI has already released the schedule for this series. India will be playing two Tests along with three ODIs followed by a five-match T20I series.
The highly awaited series will begin on July 12, 2023. This series is extremely important for India since it is going to be the start of their World Test Championship Cycle campaign (2023-25). Meanwhile, the ongoing Ashes Test series between Team England and Australia has already started off the new WTC championship cycle.
In 2022, India visited the West Indies and won the series quite easily as the hosts were not able to compete with India and lost the series by 0-3 in the ODI and 1-4 in the T20Is. Indian fans are expecting the same performance from India as the West Indies will be under extreme pressure after their poor performances recently, especially in the ODI World Cup Qualifier which is being played in Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja, the star Indian all-rounder, took to Twitter and shared his excitement about the tour as he arrived in the Caribbean. With him, Shardul Thakur and Ravichandran Ashwin can also be seen in the same picture.
He tweeted a photo with the caption "Touchdown Barbados." Jadeja has been named to both the ODI and Test squads, demonstrating his enormous talent and importance as India's top all-rounder. However, Ashwin and Thakur have only been included in the Test team and not the ODI squad.

Indian ODI squad has prominent players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Hardik Pandya, while the Test squad has the newly named red ball vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane along with Ishan Kishan, Jaydev Unadkat, and other established players. There are several uncapped players, who might make their international debut during the series as India's hunt to find new talent continues.
