Ishan Kishan gave an important message to players and fans regarding cleanliness in a video shared by Mumbai Indians on social media.

The left-handed batter has been in the news in recent months ever since he pulled out midway through India's tour of South Africa. He received specific instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to partake in the Ranji Trophy but decided to give it a skip. Subsequently, the BCCI left him out of the central contracts list. Amid the chaos, Kishan represented RBI at the DY Patil T20 Cup.

The wicketkeeper-batter will be playing for the Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Kishan is currently sweating it out in the pre-season camp organised by the five-time IPL champions. In a video shared by the franchise on social media, the 25-year-old urged players and fans not to throw bottles everywhere. He stressed the importance of keeping the grounds clean.

"Message for the people. Everyone comes for practice. But wherever they go, they should not throw water bottles everywhere. Try and keep your ground clean. Just small things and you will improve in everything. Small changes are also important, which you should do," said Kishan in the video.

Ishan has played 91 IPL matches and scored 2,324 runs at an average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 134.26. Last year, he scored 454 runs from 15 matches at an average of 30.27 and a strike rate of 142.77, registering three half-centuries in the campaign.

With the T20 World Cup scheduled to commence right after the completion of the IPL, Kishan would want to make a strong impact in the cash-rich league and earn his place in the Indian side for the marquee global event in the West Indies and the USA.

Mumbai Indians are set to begin their IPL 2024 campaign on Sunday, March 24, when they lock horns with Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
