The 11th match of the ongoing ODI World Cup 2032 took place between New Zealand and Bangladesh at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. The match started with a bang as Bangladesh's opener, Litton Das, was dismissed by the very first ball of the game, caught brilliantly by Matt Henry near the ropes.

New Zealand's pace bowler, Lockie Ferguson, employed a strategy of bowling short balls that proved to be effective against the Bangladeshi batters. This tactic resulted in wickets falling at regular intervals for Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim and captain Shakib Al Hasan attempted to stabilize the innings with a 96-run partnership, but their efforts were short-lived.

Ferguson's consistent use of short balls continued to trouble the Bangladeshi batters, leading to a sudden collapse in their batting line-up. Despite a late surge by Mahmudullah, Bangladesh could only manage to post a below-par total of 245/9. Mushfiqur Rahim was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 66 runs.

Chasing the target, New Zealand comfortably achieved the target of 246. Despite losing opener Rachin Ravindra early, New Zealand had the experienced Kane Williamson back in the team, and he celebrated his return with a well-made half-century. Williamson controlled the chase perfectly, not letting the pressure of a World Cup chase affect him. He was unfortunate to retire hurt due to a thumb injury, but by then, the damage was already done.

Daryl Mitchell, who has been in impressive form throughout the tournament, once again played a crucial role in guiding New Zealand to victory. He looked flawless from the moment he hit his first six and seemed to be batting on a different pitch altogether. Mitchell's unbeaten knock of 89 runs ensured that New Zealand won the match comfortably by eight wickets.

New Zealand's dominance in this match highlighted their status as front-runners for the top four spots in the tournament. They have shown consistency and have very few weaknesses in their team. On the other hand, Bangladesh suffered their second defeat in the tournament, with both losses coming against strong teams like England and New Zealand.

This loss against New Zealand marks Bangladesh's sixth consecutive defeat against them in World Cups. It is a concerning statistic for Bangladesh, especially considering the lack of fitness of key player Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh will need to regroup and come back stronger in their upcoming match against India.
