There have been many moments that have caught the public eye in the ongoing multi-format series between the West Indies and India; however, none of them have as much traction as Windies’ wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva’s little chats with Virat Kohli.

During the Test series, Da Silva was captured saying that his mother was coming to watch the Test game between the West Indies and India, and she was only coming to watch Kohli bat. Furthermore, it seems like her dream became a reality as she got to meet her favourite player after the end of the day’s play on Day 2 of the second Test.

In a clip that has been doing the rounds on social media, Da Silva’s mother hugged and kissed Virat Kohli as the Indian players were taking the bus back to their hotel.

“It’s an honour to embrace him, and we all are blessed to have somebody so wonderful in our lives. Never in a million years, did I think that I would meet him," Joshua's mother said.

"Really an honour, he is a wonderful cricketer. Virat Kohli is the best batter of our lifetime. I hope Joshua emulates so much discipline and I think everyone should emulate it,” she added further.

Virat Kohli’s ton maintained India’s dominance in the second Test

Speaking of the second Test between the West Indies and India, the visitors maintained their dominance in the game and it was all thanks to the brilliance of the top-order on Day 1 and the exceptional knocks by Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin on Day 2.

Kohli completed his century on Day 2, scoring 121 runs in 206 deliveries to keep the momentum going. Furthermore, all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin made their impacts with the bat as well. Jadeja amassed 61 runs in 152 balls, with Ashwin adding 56 runs in 78 deliveries.

The Indian team notched up 438 runs on the board in the first innings and established their dominant display on Day 2 of the second Test as well. Meanwhile, the West Indies aimed to improve on their performance with the bat as compared to the first Test. Coming out to bat, the hosts put forth an improved display as openers Tagenarine Chanderpaul and skipper Kraigg Brathwaite looked to be in the flow. However, Jadeja claiming the first wicket put a dent in their plans.
