Former India pacer S Sreesanth caused an uproar on social media after making a blunt remark involving Virat Kohli and Sourav Ganguly. The statements come ahead of the clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Saturday, May 6 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

The 2011 World Cup-winning cricketer Sreesanth expressed that he would be delighted to see flamboyant RCB batter, Virat Kohli, notch up his century against DC. He further added that it would be a fitting tribute to Sourav Ganguly, who is currently in charge of the Capitals as the Director of Cricket in a subtle jibe while speaking on Star Sports.

"Virat Kohli vs (David) Warner. It’s going to be a thriller to watch because DC just won a game and RCB are on the verge of making it to the best in the league. I would love to see Virat scoring a hundred. It would be a great tribute to Dada. Virat, just go out there and express yourself and win this for RCB,” Sreesanth said in a video posted by Star Sports on Twitter.

It is no secret that Kohli and Ganguly have been sharing a cold relationship as the former was sacked as the skipper of the national team in ODIs under the latter’s reign in BCCI. Sreesanth opined that Kohli getting a century at his home ground in Delhi against ‘Dada’ (affectionately called by fans), will be a perfect tribute.

Anrich Nortje will miss the match against RCB in the ongoing IPL 2023

Another point Sreesanth highlighted in the clip was DC express pacer Anrich Nortje troubling the RCB batters in the forthcoming clash.

“Point no. 2 for me will be (Anrich) Nortje. I’ll love to see him running in hard and making the RCB batters dance to his tunes,” he added.

However, as per the latest developments, the pacer will miss out on the high-octane clash as he has headed back to his native country, South Africa, citing a personal emergency. With his exclusion from the setup in the upcoming clash, DC will need to give their best in order to put up a fight against Faf du Plessis and Co. in Saturday’s second doubleheader.
