During the ongoing Delhi Premier League (DPL 2024) match, the former Mumbai Indians (MI) player, Hrithik Shokeen, pulled off a stunning catch. Shokeen played a crucial role in West Delhi Lions' clinching a nail-biting three-wicket victory over North Delhi Strikers.
North Delhi Strikers, batting first, were looking to set a challenging target. It was in the 16th over of their innings when the game-changing moment occurred. Vaibhav Rawal, who had been steadily building an innings and was batting on 36, faced a full delivery from Rohit Yadav. Attempting to accelerate the scoring, Rawal made room and tried to loft the ball over the infield.
Shokeen, positioned at mid-off, read the batter's intentions perfectly. As the ball flew towards him, he quickly backpedalled and attempted a dive. With brilliant timing, Shokeen stretched out his right hand and plucked the ball out of thin air.

West Delhi Lions defeated North Delhi Strikers by three wickets
This catch not only ended Rawal's promising innings but also shifted the momentum in favour of the West Delhi Lions. Hrithik Shokeen also ended with economical bowling figures of 1/24 in three overs and played a significant role in restricting North Delhi Strikers to a total of 144/8 in their allotted 20 overs.

The Lions' bowling attack, led by Akhil Chaudhary's impressive four-wicket haul, kept the Strikers in check throughout their innings. Despite valuable contributions from Rawal (36 off 29) and Yash Bhatia (37 off 28), the Strikers struggled to build substantial partnerships, falling short of a competitive total.
In response, the West Delhi Lions' chase was a rollercoaster ride. Ankit Kumar's 39 off just 15 balls, including four boundaries and three sixes, provided a flying start. However, regular wickets kept the game in balance. It was composed batting of Deepak Punia (18* off 11) in the end stages that steered the Lions to victory, reaching 150/7 in 18.3 overs.
