The recent clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans was called off without a single ball being bowled as rain played spoilsport. The rain saw the entire game abandoned and saw SRH gain the one point that they needed to secure a place in the playoffs.

Although a game was not possible, a moment later, the game went viral all over social media. Star Gujarat Titans batter Kane Williamson was seen interacting with Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran.

Williamson, who spent a few years in SRH, seemed delighted to meet with Kavya. The two exchanged a quick hug, which was followed by a chat. The clip of the same has been going viral all over social media. The official X handle of SRH shared the moment of the meetup by captioning the post with an Orange heart.

Sunrisers Hyderabad secure playoffs qualification

Speaking of Sunrisers Hyderabad, the side became the third team of the IPL 2024 to qualify for the knockout rounds of the tournament. Due to their clash against Gujarat Titans being abandoned without a ball being played, both sides were awarded a point each.

Currently, the Pat Cummins-led side sits in third place in the standings, as in the 13 matches that they have played, SRH have managed to win seven games and have lost the remaining five, with one producing no result. The side has 15 points to its name and secured a berth in the playoffs. SRH qualified to the knockouts after Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals, and after the first three teams, it all comes down to which team secures the fourth spot in the standings.

The battle, currently, is between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Chennai Super Kings. Both sides are slated to play against each other in the 68th game of the tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on May 18. RCB with a net run rate of 0.387 must secure a victory that will help them surpass CSK's NRR of 0.528.
