Watch: Mohammed Shami fulfils Deepti Sharma’s request, clicks picture with her brother

India pacer Mohammed Shami fulfilled the request of Deepti Sharma as the latter had asked him to pose for a photo with her brother. Notably, Shami was asked to pose for photos by paparazzi during his entry at the CEAT Cricket Rating Awards, which was held on August 21 in Mumbai. That’s when Deepti asked Shami to click a photo with his brother, which Shami obliged. The video of the same went viral on social media as the fans poured in love for Shami for agreeing to click a photo with Deepti’s brother.

Meanwhile, the 33-year-old is on the verge of making a comeback to professional cricket. After the ODI World Cup, the pacer underwent Achilles tendon surgery, which kept him out of action for several months. He missed the home series against England, IPL 2024 and the T20 World Cup in the meantime but is finally set to make his return in the next couple of months.

He hasn’t been named in the Duleep Trophy but the Amroha-born cricket is expected to play at least one match in the Ranji Trophy. It's certain that the team management wouldn’t risk him in the upcoming Bangladesh series, keeping the marquee Australia series in mind but Shami is expected to feature against New Zealand, which is slated to begin on October 16.

The pacer is currently training at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The physios and the trainers are working closely with him as the goal is to help Shami get back to 100% fitness by October.

On the other hand, Deepti Sharma’s heroics recently helped London Spitit win the Hundred. With six runs required from three balls, the pressure was on the India all-rounder but she stepped out and hit a cracking six to get the job done. She has hit 212 runs in eight matches in the tournament and finished as the seventh-joint leading run-scorer of the tournament.
