Australia have come into the Ashes 2023 all guns blazing as they have won the first two Tests of the five-match series so far. There have been several talking points in the series so far, ranging from England’s ‘Bazball’ approach to Nathan Lyon’s injury to controversial catches in both the Tests.

However, the controversial dismissal of English wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow in the second innings of the Lord’s Test has been the talk of the town. The incident happened in the 52nd over of England's second innings when Bairstow moved out quickly of the crease after leaving a delivery from Cameron Green.

Aussie keeper Alex Carey realised the perfect opportunity and threw the ball at the wickets as Bairstow was deemed stumped. The moment gained major traction and many cricket stars have given their take on the matter, with former Australian pacer James Faulkner being the most recent one.

"I can’t wait for a cricket fanatic to put together a montage of all the times keepers have done this.. (or at least tried to!!) Welcome to international cricket and competing within the rules! #hardenup," Faulkner tweeted recently.

Australia take 2-0 lead in Ashes

Meanwhile, Australia strengthened their grip on the Ashes 2023 as they have taken a lead by 2-0, having defeated the hosts by two wickets in a thrilling first Test at Edgbaston. Following that, Australia put a magnificent performance with both bat and ball in the second Test as well to win by 43 runs. England aimed to chase down a target of 371, however, despite skipper Ben Stokes' 155 in the second innings, the visitors fell short of the target.
