WPL fever begins
But the excitement doesn't end there. Shortly after the opening ceremony, at 7:30 PM, the much-awaited clash will kick off the second edition of the marquee league.
This year, WPL will be played across two venues, with matches being hosted in Bengaluru and the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The final will be played in Delhi on March 17, 2024. The move to accommodate games at different venues was to spread the presence of women's cricket throughout the country.
Speaking of the free entry, the access for women will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. With minimal ticket prices for the general audience, WPL 2024 aims to make the matches accessible to all cricket fans. Previously, however, all women were allowed to witness the tournament for free for the games that took place in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.
