With the titanic battle between India and Australia in the World Test Championship Final at the Oval just a few hours away, the Asian outfit has hastened their preparations. Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli was seen in an intense training session, sharpening his batting ahead of the summit clash.

Team India will look to end their trophy drought in ICC events when they take on Pat Cummins' Australia in the WTC final at the Oval, commencing on June 7. The summit clash is expected to deliver mouthwatering battles between some of the best cricketers in red-ball cricket, with all eyes on former Indian skipper Virat Kohli.

While the Aussies are labelled as the favourites heading into the clash due to their formidable fast-bowling arsenal, India have got an ace up their sleeve in the form of batting superstar Virat Kohli. The 34-year-old batter was seen sweating it out in the nets against his compatriots, a few hours away from the crucial encounter. Kohli displayed an array of shots while facing speedsters Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav and Shardul Thakur. He also honed his batting against spin by taking on left-arm spinner Axar Patel in the nets.

An in-form Virat Kohli eyes India's first ICC trophy since 2013

The middle-order stalwart has rediscovered his prime touch with the bat since last year's Asia Cup and is headed into the monumental fixture on the back of a prolific run in the recently concluded 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His last innings in the longest format of the game saw the batting ace end his Test century drought in Ahmedabad after a magnificent 186 against India's upcoming opponents Australia. Runs from Kohli's bat will be crucial for the Asian giants, who missed out on the prize last time around after a defeat against New Zealand in the final.
