India batter Srikar Bharat endured a massive blow to his head during the World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final against Australia at The Oval in London. Notably, the Aussies are on the cusp of attaining glory after Scott Boland handed a double wicket blow to dent India’s quest to clinch the mace.

After the dismissals of Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja in a single over, Srikar Bharat walked into the field along side Ajinkya Rahane. During the penultimate ball of the 48th over, Aussie speedster Starc’s low delivery struck Bharat on his helmet despite the latter ducking to defend himself.

However, it did not take Australia too long to land the blows as Boland drew curtains on Kohli’s innings in the third ball of the 47th over. Team India endured yet another blow in the form of Jadeja’s dismissal as he was sent packing for a duck off two balls off Boland in the fifth delivery of the same over. With Rahane and Bharat on the crease, the pair will look to forge an invaluable partnership so as to have any hopes of getting close to the target.

The Rohit Sharma-led side are in a spot of bother and the Aussies on the other hand, will look to capitalize on the former’s precarious situation and assert their dominance. It remains to be seen if Rahane can bail his side out of the peculiar situation and get his side ahead in the crucial clash. The Aussies have a terrific momentum and they will look to maintain it and comfortably win the contest.
