A video of five-year-old S K Shahid doing batting practice led to a life-changing experience for him as the kid who admires the Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar got a chance to have a five day training drill with the Indian legend. Shahid’s father who earns a living by working in a hair salon uploaded a video of his son doing batting practice.
Soon after, the video caught the attention of world media and even legendary spinner Shane Warne was impressed. The Australian great, who took his last breath due to a suspected heart attack in Thailand, had wished the young batter luck for the future.
Apart from Warne, the five-year-old also caught the attention of Indian legend Sachin and before he realised it, Shahid was allotted a place at his idol’s Middlesex Global Academy. The 48-year-old personally went to the academy to encourage him and provided some valuable tips.

“My son is five years old. His role model is Sachin Sir and it was his dream to see him. He wants to become a cricketer. Just to see him was his dream, but what Sachin Sir did, even a thank you is less,” Shahid’s father Shaikh Shamser was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
An Australian channel Fox Cricket had uploaded the video of young Shahid doing batting drills. The channel then had also tagged Warne, Tendulkar and former England captain Michael Vaughan.
The five-year-old revealed that the Master Blaster would have watched the video after which he received a word from one of Tendulkar’s official team members to get in touch with them. In a heartfelt gesture, Tendulkar also handled all the expenses during Shahid and his family’s visit to Mumbai and also arranged for their stay at a guest-house.
