Team India gunned down the total of 238 runs before the 40th over against Pakistan to seal their place in the final of the ongoing Asia Cup. Their top-order continued in great form as the openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan slammed centuries and added 210 runs for the first wicket which blew away the opposition. However, Rohit has spilt the beans on what he discusses with his partner during the partnership.

This is not the first time that India’s superhit openers have made the opposition look ordinary with their batting and it is becoming a sort of a norm now in the ODI format especially. In the Asia Cup so far, they have been so clinical that the middle-order has not even got enough time to spend in the middle.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma, in a video for the BCCI, has revealed what all he discusses with Dhawan during the partnership normally. He informed that they talk about the game about close to five overs about how to approach the game and then just enjoy each other’s game.

“First 5 overs we talk about cricket, discuss what we need to do, where we take singles and which fielders we can put under pressure. After that, it’s better to leave Dhawan alone,” he said.

Hopefully, we bat like this in future

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan was happy that the duo contributed to the team’s victory and hoped that they continue to bat the same way in the future as well. “They have a good fast bowling attack and we waited for 10-15 overs before going for the big shots. We have played with each other a lot and work on autopilot mode now. Hopefully, we can go on like this in the future and our partnership can continue to serve India,” he added.

Team India will now face Afghanistan in their last Super Four game on Tuesday after which they will play in the final on Friday.
